DRDM — A DRDM Property

The following Air Quality Directive is issued in response to a review submitted by the Consumer Air Purifier Analysis Division.

The original material, titled "AQI-2G Air Quality Monitor with PM2.5 vs GOSUND Air Quality Monitor for Home: Which One Actually Cleans the Air?", was received from the Domestic Appliance Evaluation Office.

This directive establishes our official position on the comparative efficacy of these two devices.

The AQI-2G unit features a dedicated PM2.5 sensor and displays real-time particulate readings.

The GOSUND unit is marketed as a whole-home air purifier with integrated monitoring.

Both devices claim to clean air, but only one meets our standards for olfactory absence.

The review presents three key metrics for comparison: Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR), operational noise, and long-term filter replacement costs.

For an asthmatic family, CADR is the primary metric affecting breathable particulate removal.

Noise levels above 50 decibels may disrupt sleep, undermining any air quality gains achieved during rest.

Filter costs must be evaluated over a 12-month period to determine true ownership expense.

The review does not conclude which unit is superior; it provides raw data for the consumer to interpret.

Our office recommends that any air purifier selected for an asthmatic household must achieve a minimum CADR of 200 for smoke particles.

Neither the AQI-2G nor the GOSUND has been independently verified by our Department of Random Domain Management.

We remind the public that the absence of smell is not the same as the absence of particulate matter.

A monitor that only detects PM2.5 may fail to detect volatile organic compounds that contribute to indoor odor profiles.

Further testing under controlled conditions is required before either device can be certified as an Olfactory Absence Device.

This directive serves as an interim guidance document for field agents evaluating consumer air quality equipment.
