This Public Service Advisory has been prepared in response to a document filed by the Falls Tourism Collective, titled 'Indoor Attractions at Niagara Falls for a Cozy Winter Day,' hosted at thefalls.net.
The Department of Random Domain Management has reviewed this material with the professional disappointment that characterizes our office's winter months.
We note that the guide claims to offer a complete list of indoor activities suitable for visitors who are unwilling to experience the actual phenomenon of the falls in its natural, cold, and wet state.
The document references the following indoor venues: the Butterfly Conservatory, the Aquarium of Niagara, the Fallsview Casino, and the Niagara IMAX Theatre.
Also included are the indoor observation areas behind the falls, which we acknowledge are technically indoors but still subject to significant moisture exposure.
The guide further mentions seasonal exhibits at the Niagara Falls History Museum and the indoor arcades along Clifton Hill.
We are resigned to the fact that tourists will continue to seek refuge from the weather rather than endure it with the stoic patience our department recommends.
We advise the public that these attractions do not increase the volume of water flowing over the falls, nor do they reduce the department's annual disappointment metrics.
Visitors should adjust expectations accordingly.
Signed, Misty Dewhurst, Water Volume & Disappointment Analyst, Department of Random Domain Management.
