APPROVED PROCUREMENTS — K. PATTERSON
Source document from the Department of Household Efficacy Testing, filed under reference number 2024-001.
This preliminary assessment concerns two commercially available laundry additives: Seventh Generation Easy Dose Laundry Detergent Free & Clear and Clorox Splash-Less Bleach Concentrated Regular.
The original test, conducted by personnel designated as Dad, Mom, Hope, and the Dog, measured time until product depletion under typical household conditions.
I have reviewed the submitted data. The methodology is not documented in any standard protocol I am aware of, but the results appear internally consistent.
Seventh Generation Easy Dose claims to offer concentrated dosing with reduced packaging waste. Clorox Splash-Less Bleach advertises reduced spill risk during pouring.
The test tracked number of loads completed before the container required replacement. No chemical analysis was performed; this is a simple longevity audit.
Initial observations suggest that neither product outperforms the other by a statistically significant margin in terms of cost per use. However, the Dog's involvement raises questions about contamination control.
The report notes that Mom favored the scent-free nature of Seventh Generation, while Dad preferred the bleaching action of Clorox. Hope expressed no preference but was observed using both products interchangeably.
Further testing is required to establish a controlled comparison. I recommend a double-blind study using standardized soiled fabric swatches and a rotating washing machine schedule.
Until then, I will continue to observe these products during my routine floor maintenance duties. The janitor's eye does not lie.
